Patong Beach
Patong Beach and Bangla road are the wildest places on Phuket Island. Sanook is a Thai word for fun and there is plenty of it in this area. This ain’t home Dorothy!!! “Ladyboys”, beautiful (real) Thai girls, entice the foreigners (mostly male) to buy them a drink and show them a very good time. It’s not for the fainthearted.
Simon Cabaret is the most popular transvestite cabaret show in Phuket This show is a spectacle of music and dance performed by the famous ladyboys of Simon Cabaret. Many a man has been fooled by these curvatious lovely boys Lots of fun and lots of glitz is what the show is all about. It is a must.
Chalong
Wat Chalong is one of Phuket’s most important temples and visited by thousands each year. It’s beautifully decorated with infinite reflections from hundreds of tiny glass pieces and several pagodas. On special holidays Wat Chalong hosts ‘country fairs’ with a real local flavour where you can buy just about anything and snack on Thai food to your heart’s content. Big Buddha Chalong
Big Buddha is a recent arrival to Phuket. The Buddha image stands on Nakkerd Hills and looks over Chalong, Kata and Rawai. The cost to build the image was 30 million baht or 1 million USD to construct and stands 45 meters . Alongside the Big Buddha is a smaller Golden image that is actually made of brass . The drive to the Big Buddha has some of the best views on the island. There are small banana plantations along with Elephant trekking caps along the way.
Koh Phi Phi Island
Koh Phi Phi is Thailand’s Thailand’s most famous getaway. This is where the movie “The Beach” was filmed. Phi Phi’s beauty and it throwback to the good old backpacker’s day is one of the reason people come to Phi Phi year after year. Phi Phi when approached by yacht rises from the ocean with steep Limestone cliffs covered by dense jungle.
Phuket FantaSea Show located in Kamala Beach
It is a crazy circus type show with Trapeze artists, elephants and pyrotechnics. Like Las Vegas Asian Style. There is nothing else like it anywhere in the world. Thai traditional myths and humor are the staple and fantasy along with spectacular showmanship is what makes the Fanta Sea’s extravaganza the most popular show on the island of Phuket
Thai Boxing in Patong Beach
Mui Thai is one of the most exciting sports in Asia if not the world, most bouts are held at Saphan Hin Stadium in Phuket Town or in Patong Beach. This traditional sport is loved and watched by both Thai and Foriengers.
Views of Kata Beach Nai Harn Beach and Cape Panwa
Phuket has many viewpoints looking out overlooking the Andaman Sea with both sunrise and sunset view The most popular is Promthep and it is spectacular. Promthep has views as far as the eye can see and on a good day you can see Phi Phi Island. Some of the other viewpoints are the ‘Three Beaches hilltop located near Nai Harn and Kata and the After Beach Bar located on the same road.
